Religious News

As I will be covering the RE section for the most of this term I have a couple of important reminders. Firstly, please be aware that the dates for our first two class masses have changed. Six Blue will now have their mass on the 22nd of February at 9am and Four Gold will now have theirs on the 8th of March at the same time. Our first whole school mass will take place on Ash Wednesday which is on the 1st of March. Years three to six will attend this mass and receive ashes. Parents and wider community members are all welcome to attend.

We are preparing to get our information together for the 2017 Sacramental Program. Please inform us as soon as possible if your child is in a Sacramental class but is not receiving the Sacrament here at St. Joseph’s for any reason.

Commitment Masses

The commitment masses for the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist will take place over the weekend of the 25th and 26th of February. All candidates for either Sacrament must attend one of the Parish masses on Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Please put this date into your diary.

Holy Doors

The Jubilee Year of Mercy began on December 8 2015 with the opening of the Holy Door at St Peter’s Basilica in Rome and will end on November 20 2016. Pope Francis has asked for Catholics to have a stronger type of Mercy. Here at St Joseph’s we have created a variety of Holy Doors around the school. This is a reminder to do Acts of Mercy at all times. Our Library’s Holy door is a place that all the children visit and their door asks for Acts of Mercy as we enter and Acts of Mercy as we leave.
